Around 4 years old children develop interest in imaginary games, develop social skills,  knows more about their taste and interest. They are therefore better able to assert themself and give their opinions.  They also begins to know how to solve problems and difficulties. It is also at this age that you can establish greater preference and skill with one hand or the other.

More activities for children.

1: Ice Age/kids activities for home 

At the start, the children are in an ‘’ ice block’’ and the body parts gradually thaw.  When the music stops, they must remain in statue.  Another part of the body to thaw is named and the music continue.

Start by naming the eyes, then the nose, tongue and neck going down to explain the melting of the ice. Name just 2 body part at a time when you stop the music, and they have to move only the body parts you named.  When the music goes back on,  the kids can only move the body parts you named.  And stop again the music and name more body parts.  At the end of the game, the children are completely melted and can make their bodies dance as they wish.  Educational activity.

 

 

2: What’s in my hands: kids activities

The game need a scarf to put around the eyes and you give thing in is hand and the children need to guess what it is.  You can take whatever you have in the house.

Ex:  orange, apple, bowl, or hairbrush, what you have in your house. Kids have fun with these games.  It help develops the touch and sense for small children. Educational activity. 

 

3: John says:     

All children start at the same place at the end of the room and the caller is at the other end. 

The master start:  John says take two small mice steps. Child take two mice steps, John says take one elephant step front and go on.

If the master didn’t say ”John says” then the children need to move back to the beginning. The first one who arrives at the master win and become the master.  Educational activity. 

4: hidden object: Take 12 differents objects put them all in a large tray and ask your child to look at them for 1 minutes only. Tell them to look really carefully and try to remember all the objects that was in tray. Hide the object with towel and ask your child  to name every objects that was in the tray.

5: hidden words :  kids activities 

Hidden word really help children recognize lettre and word. Develop memory, and help develop interest in words, books. This product is a very good graphing hidden word for 4 years old an up.   1. These are GREAT activities especially now with the whole self isolation thing. I think keeping kids occupied in a time like this is great and will improve their motor skills with these activities. I have a couple young ones so I will try these out and see if they like them. Thanks a lot!

  2. These remind me of the games my aunt used to play with us when we were little.I think Ice Age would be just right for our daughter. These are important reminders of how we can connect with our children in an age when it is all too easy for us to let them spend yet more hours on some electronic device.   4. Ice Age would be a fun game for children at their early age; I remember playing those kinds of staff with my children way back then, that was long ago, for they are already young adults.

    Yes, To let children be pre-occupied with educational kits is good, all mother’s wish, especially if there are lots of things to do.

    1. Thank you Lyn, Yes it is a good game, when I did it for the children at shcool it laught so mush They try to move only their eyes and mouth at first and we laught from the beginning to the end of the game.

  5. What great ideas for activities! My kids especially liked the “what’s in my hands” game! I gave them an egg straight from our chicken coop, then instantly realized it may not have been the best choice as my son tried to squeeze it! 😬 Fun times!
